Hey everyone!!!
Gosh a mission is crazy because the weeks fly by, but the days are so long! Lol but I'm grateful to be writing another letter!!
This week we got to go to the temple with our new converts! IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!! Like wow, it was awesome! I just love introducing the temple to those who have never been! The ordinances are so beautiful and our friends were so excited! Especially because we all celebrated with some STL custard after! I literally love being a missionary, and I love our friends!

On Thursday night we had another meeting with our friend Antonio! He is just killing all his lessons!!! It's going so so well and he is so stoked to get baptized, but we need to get him to church more! So pray for Antonio!! Anyways, before going into Antonio's house we were waiting for a couple in our branch to show up, as we were waiting, no joke, Hermana Larsen and I heard two gunshots coming from the next street over. This was the closest I have ever been to actual gun shots, and I promise you that these were no fireworks. We were terrified so we ran into Antonio's house as soon as the members showed up. But when the gunshots happened all the people in their houses came out to see what happened, (which I thought was weird.. like stay safe inside.) Anyways, when they came out they asked us what happened and we were like “Uh we don't know” and one guy was like “Y'all look new here but welcome to St. Louis. Get used to it”. Gosh it was so scary.
Funny story while whippin' (driving) through STL. My comp and I had a facetime lesson so I pulled into a Walgreens parking lot to take the call and some very very old Asian man comes up to our car. Signals to roll my window down, so I do. Then he just says “Uber?” and I was like “No I'm sorry”, then he tries to get in the car, and I was like “I'm sorry sir, we are not your uber..” and he just started walking away. My comp and I were dying laughing it was a good pick me up!
On Saturday night, we had a lesson with a recent member, Vanessa! She is the cutest ever! She is a single mom and from Honduras (mi pais) ! She doesn't come from much, but has the biggest heart to give! We went to their home and while leaving, she told me she has a dress she wants me to have. Right then and there I committed to wearing it to church the next day. I didn't realize it would be immodest, so the next day I grabbed a undershirt and rocked her dress to church. I felt kind of silly because it's a silk single strapped dress, but she jumped for joy when I showed up to church in it! I literally love the members in our branch so much! They have a big piece of my heart!

Sunday, was the best day I have had on my mission so far! We just had the bestest day ever! Mother's Day is definitely the move in STL! The latinos like to party. We knocked doors that day and we got pulled into three latino parties where we met a total of nine people to teach! IT IS THE COOLEST! And we got cake!!! Also, I got to talk to my mama for mother's day! My mom is the best woman ever, so I really lucked out being able to call her!
My spiritual thought this week comes from all of the experiences I have had from my mission so far. When one of our friends are progressing, it always seems too easy like they practically want to jump into the waters of baptism. Or all the random timed miracles we see everyday. For example.. this past Wednesday as we were walking to our car at 9:30 pm a car pulls over and starts honking at me, and I'm like “Oh great I'm gonna die”.. but they were latino and so I was like perfect we can get their number and head home. But they start yelling at me and said Frangeny (a friend from a month ago) wants to talk to us. She told us her phone broke and she lost all her contacts, but she wants to meet again. Although, she said this time she wants her mom to be in all the lessons too!! How sick is that! So we are heading to her house tomorrow night! Whoop whoop!
But God here is our 3rd comp! He is in every detail of every minute of our days! I am so grateful for God and being a disciple of Christ! So this week I'll share the main missionary scripture but, def one of my faves!
“Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.”
The greatest work I have ever done! 🙌 I love my mission, and I love representing Christ and taking his word to his children! I love you all so so much! Always remember who you are what you stand for! GOD IS SO GOOD!
