WHAT UP EVERYONE!!!
I hope y'all had the best week!! Nothing too big happened this week but tiny miracles! So that's a slay!! I'm staying another 6 weeks in Bella Villa!! Which means I'll be in this area for officially 6 months, Yay!! No worries though because it's actually the promised land!
Sister Bruin stayed with me which means I'm gonna kill her… (not actually but that's what they say when a missionary finishes there mission with you)🤷♀️!! So she'll finish her mission out with the best comp eva (me)! 💁♀️
This week we started it off with a bombbb p-day!! So because 4 out of our 8 missionaries in our district were being transferred, we decided to run up a pickleball tourney. Literally so fun and I got some pickleball skills!! I'll definitely be a pickleball pro in a year!! Then of course we had to hit up Ted Drewes!! Which is just the bomb! The bluenote custard is the go to, if any of y'all ever come to STL! SO YUM!

Okay let's get into some of our miracles!! This week while being our normal missionary selves, on Tuesday morning we get a call. A call from Roni! A couple weeks ago Roni told us he will call us when he's ready for messages. (Usually they never call us). Well Roni called us bright and early Tuesday morning and we were able to share a bomb lesson about the Book of Mormon! He was so interested, he downloaded the app right then and there and started reading Nephi (first book) that night. #hesthebomb
Then another miracle!! We got a little social media referral,! And guess what she submitted her request to learn more about….. BAPTISM!!! So we called her right then and she told us she was interested in being baptized into the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! We were like “oh si claro” !!! She told us that she attended the church a couple times when she was younger in Honduras! And that she's ready to change life and be baptized… LIKE WHAT!! After getting to know her a bit more we realized that her testimony of God has come from the recent transition she’s been through... first experience with this on my mission but she has lots of faith so we will keep working with her!! Prayers up!

Now baby miracle number 2!! Apparently, our apartment complex has these parties to celebrate us for living there lol! So they had a taco truck on Wednesday and were handing out free tacos. Luckily, our amazing senior missionaries told us about the taco truck. We rushed back to the complex for dinner and got some free tacos and got to eat dinner with the Motts (senior couple)!! #godisgood

Y'all Saturday night we taught the cutest little Colombian family!! They literally wanted to know everything about the church. They asked about why we don't drink coffee in our first lesson which isn't fun to try and explain, but after a little explaining the wife was like, in Spanish, “that makes total sense”. Literally so cool! Then I got to testify about Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us, and it was such a bomb testimony and then… we looked over and their 2 year-old was just peeing his pants right next to us… He probably felt the spirit and got too relaxed. lol gross!
Sunday was a tad frustrating lol! God just works in miraculous and strange ways!! There's so many highs but highs come with lows.. so we invited.. I kid you not 90 people to church. We had 3 come to church. And the 3 that came we didn't even invite this past week lol.. we texted them a couple weeks ago, and they showed up for the first time this past Sunday!! We are teaching them this Friday so I am so excited!! But just strange that we beg people to come to church.
Actually, a funny story, Sunday morning our two friends Adilma and Miriam said they didn't have Sunday dresses so they didn't want to come. So being the great missionaries we are lol we stopped by their house Sunday morning and gave them two dresses we just had! They got so happy and said they will be at church. Then they didn't come to church :(( nor answer any of our texts or calls or the door when we stopped by after church... So I guess God just has a different plan sometimes. But I've been joking with Sister Bruin that we've been robbed blind right in front of our faces lol.. RIP the dresses 🙏!!

Also fun fact everybody, our latino friends here can not process that my name is Hermana Kimball… so in case you've been wondering what I have been going by out here for the last 5 months… meet “Hermana Kimberly”... lol. They do not like that we go by last names. So it's Hermana Kimberly and her friend. Because they don't even try to say Hermana Bruin! haha anyways kinda funny.

So sorry that this email was all over the place!! I just had so many thoughts that I wanted to get down, so it's just a but of everything!!! This week we get to go to the temple again!! I am so blessed to be able to go to the temple every transfer I'm in STL!! Literally the biggest blessing!
Today for my spiritual thought I just wanted to share a quick spiritual experience!! This week was one of those weeks where I just got a tad bit more homesick! Although everyday I am reminded by the strength the Lord has provided for me! I pray, I plead to Heavenly Father every morning in prayer for strength to keep going. As I was reading my friends' emails this week, my cute friend Mimi, who is going to serve in New Mexico, had a spiritual thought that I just want to put here as well. Sometimes we get too focused on how our lives were before the mission.. the friends we hung out with, my family I saw everyday, Jack, the small freedoms I had, naps… and we think “what am I doing here… this is so hard” and it is, don't get me wrong. But just like Jobs' wife, I caught myself looking back… looking back on my “old life”, but everyday I have a thought in my head that I need to see the blessings. Be grateful for this time that I get to teach of the saving grace of Jesus Christ! I am so grateful for his sacrifice for myself and for all of you! I know that through him I find strength! The atonement of Jesus Christ is so powerful! And I know that God and Jesus Christ loves each of us so much!!
