Hey everybody!! Happiest October!! Seriously crazy that it's October but I'm stoked for my Halloween costume this year ðĪŠ ð !!
This week I got to hit another exchange with my bestie Sis Fifi!! Gosh, I love that girl!! I got to go to the absolute boonies of Illinois… let me know if y'all have ever heard of Mahomet, Illinois… not me! So we got to run it up there!! We had a blast. We got some knocking done where I completely forgot how to speak English to people, and just made Sister Fifita do all the work… Then we got some lessons done! We had a member meal and the members actually knew my cousins when they lived in Cypress, so that was wild! She said I look just like my Aunt Monica! Haha! We also got to do some Spanish work because we never go up to their area because it's a little far but y'all… we found a family!!!! It was so fun! I'm so excited to teach them! Then we stayed up way too late and made raps! So overall, a successful exchange!! Haha I love that girl!
Thursday was literally such a great day!! We had president interviews, but pres didn't have the time to make the drive up here so we had to do them on zoom, but they were still stellar!! He's honestly so great and gives the best advice!! Something I love about my Pres. is he is so inspired!! In every interview I've had with him, the spirit just calms my worries! Transfer news comes out tonight, then transfers are on Wednesday! So we will see if anything happens, but I'll let y'all know next week!
On Thursday we also had one of the coolest members of our stake presidency, President Fulton, take all of our district and ZL’s out to lunch! It was genuinely a blast!! I say “one of the coolest” because Elder Bednar's son is our Stake President… So just in case Elder Bednar reads this.. Anyways he took us to “Epic Burgers” and we all ordered burgers (duh). I love my district because almost all of us ordered the “Cowboy burger” haha and with that we all had to say yeehaw one by one, loud and proud in order to receive our food. Of course I was loud and proud!! Because GO TEXAS AYEE!!

Saturday and Sunday were genuinely some of the purest spirit filled days!! I love conference, I've realized it’s like the super bowl here on the mission!! Getting people to church just by having them watch a live broadcast is a million percent easier!!! Hermana McQuigg and I didn’t have anywhere to spend conference besides the last session at the church building. So the Millers’ (in the English ward) invited us over for two sessions of conference!! Genuinely, this was such a testament to me that God is in the details of our lives!! This family is a family of six, they have four daughters, ages from 14-2, and the 7 year-old, the 10 year-old, and the 14 year-old were literally Capri, Collins, and Bella (sorry Bells, she was very mature)!! But I just gave them the biggest hugs! I genuinely miss my sisters so much, so being there watching conference with them, hearing them argue and do cartwheels was just the epitome of my home!! I loved watching conference with them!! They also invited us to have pancakes with them Sunday morning which of course made me miss Lexi!! (My fav pancake eater ð)!! Haha anyways, it was such a blessed way to watch conference!!

We had so many miracles this past weekend. Our friend Mateo will be baptized October 27th, and then Sergio on November 2nd!! Lucy and Ignacio came and watched conference with us at the church building for the last session!! Our recent convert Josue watched the Sunday morning session!!!! Our friends Memo and Brenda also watched on Saturday!! I just love conference and it's many opportunities for our friends to hear the words from the prophet and apostles!! What a pure weekend!!
This week was just so spirit filled and I'm sure I'll share from general conference in my spiritual thought coming up here soon, but this week I want to tell y'all about the “Starfish Alliance” I joined. When President Fulton took us out to lunch on Thursday he ended our lunch telling us the story about a boy on the beach and starfish. So here's my effort to retell the story. “One day an old man was walking down the beach, while he was walking down he saw a younger boy throwing starfishes into the water. The old man walked up to the young boy and said ‘what are you doing?’, the young boy replied and said, ‘I'm throwing the star fish into the water’ the older man said ‘I know that, but why?’ and the young boy replied, ‘the sun is about to rise and when the sun rises and the starfish are still on the beach the sun will dry them out and they will die’.. the older man replied ‘boy.. look down the beach, there's about 40 miles left of beach, there's no way you will make a difference’.. the younger boy, startled, stepped back.. picked up another starfish and said ‘I will make a difference for this one’ and threw the starfish into the water.” This story is silly but we can easily apply it to our lives either as missionaries or simply members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!
In D&C 18:15 it reads
15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!”

Like the boy and the starfish, we can work on bringing just one soul unto God, then our joy will be great! With President Fulton, he gave each of us sisters bracelets with a small starfish on it and gave the elders a starfish pin for their ties. I asked if I could have both to rock the pin on my bag, because the reminder is so profound! Even if we just bring one soul unto Christ.. even if it's just your own, you are successful and your joy will be great! I invite y'all to pray for and minister to “the one” this week!!
I love y'all so so much and miss y'all! Write me! God is so good! ð
