Y’all… welcome to the plot twist of the century.. my trainee and I got pulled apart. Literally the craziest transfer news ever.. We got the news that we are white washing out of our area (basically means we both are moving out).. then we got a call from President. He asked me to become an STL (sister training leader) and serve and open a new YSA (young single adult) branch.. like what!

 I love the Thomas Girls!!

So at that point I knew the dreaded, but low-key stellar day would come.. I knew I was going to serve English speaking.. so y'all I'm now a STL out in Springfield Illinois YSA w/ a literal bestie Sister Roos. Sister Roos is literally a party!! She's from Paradise Utah and she's been out forever! Literally y'all, Sister Roos is such an awesome missionary. We match each other's energy like no other. Our vision to baptize is locked and we are seriously sprinting up to everyone who's 18-35!! Also, we are genuinely dying of laughter all day! GOD IS SO GREAT!!! Sister Roos is genuinely the best!

Sister Roos and I are in a temporary assignment and got pinkwashed into the Springfield 2nd ward as we wait for the grand opening of the branch on Dec 7th!! The same day my sweet friend Angel will be getting baptized in Champaign! We are pumped!! The ward has been so sweet and genuinely has helped us so much!! We have had so many members reach out because we are the first sisters they've had in years! It's been the best, I highkey feel like a movie star… I may need to be humbled lol!
I LOVE SUNSETS AND THANKSGIVING!

Sundays in Springfield!!

The first day we spent some time saying goodbye to some of Sister Roos’ old friends as she had to pass them off to the new elders in her other ward! It was so fun I got to meet so many new devoted people! It was a blast. We also got to go to institute that night and it was so fun! I love the YSA because they are like all my besties. I can just be myself and they eat it up. It’s been a blast and the institute teacher is so baller, I'm learning so much!
We've spent a lot of time ministering to the recent converts in the ward.. there's 17 of them!! Sheesh, so we baked lots of cookies and delivered them! It was just the perfect opportunity to meet them!

We spend all of our time on campus at University of Illinois-Springfield, it’s so fun! We meet SOOOO many people a day. We are always on the move and talking to other people! It's been soooo fun! Being on campus is so fun because we know there's YSA people there, so it’s easy to find! This new area, calling, assignment, is genuinely the best/funnest thing to ever happen! I just love my area, my comp, and our almost branch!! It’s all so exciting!

We love Granny Carolyn! She gives us sugar-free,
calorie free lemonade !

Also since I am in an English area and the only Spanish speaker, I get the opportunity to teach lots of Spanish on my own!! Sad to do it on my own but it’s been awesome! We met this guy named Maicol the other day. We teach Maicol everyday at 7:30. He just moved here from Miami and told us that he wants to work towards baptism! So we have our work set out for us out here! I'm so blessed and it's so fun to have so much to do!

Last night we went to the Thomas' house! I know that God sent me here to meet this family. They are a family of eight and have the same vibes as my fam at home. They also have a daughter out serving in Utah and they love us because they miss her. And we love them because we miss our families sometimes! They are seriously a party. They even talked us into attending early morning seminary on our P-day, so we hit that up this morning! But it was genuinely loads of fun, and I held a tarantula.. well kinda. I didn't touch It but I held the Book of Mormon that held it haha!

Anyways, there's so much work out here in Springfield and so many Abraham Lincolns… literally everywhere. I'm so happy to be here, and I do know God has sent me and my awesome comp her for a reason! This week as we were sharing about the Prince of Peace, my companion pulled out this verse from John 14:27 and it says:

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
And I was able to compliment that verse with Helaman 5:47 that says
47 Peace, peace be unto you, because of your faith in my Well Beloved, who was from the foundation of the world.

I Know that as we rest on the Savior, He truly is the Prince of Peace. The greatest Peacemaker of all time! We are so blessed to feel his patience and love in our lives so abundantly! I'm so grateful for the spirit and the peace it brings me each week! I love God, I love this work and I feel at peace being here!!

Omar gave us these bandanas..
he may miss us a little too much ahah
