Hi y’all! WHAT A WEEK! Quick spoiler: TRENT IS BAPTIZED!!! God is in the details. It was 20 degrees instead of 5. WENT TO THE TEMPLE! Got kicked out of Bible study. GOD IS MIRACULOUS!

On Tuesday, we got to go to the temple!!! Literally, what a blessing! We also got to go with Sister Cluff! She's so amazing and reminds me a lot of my nana! So it was a ton of fun to be around her! She also took us to Mexican food in my baby area, so I was hoping I'd see some of my old friends! I didn't, but it was so fun to spend time in my Latina culture! #slay

TEMPLE WITH SIS CLUFF

Wednesday was the best! Let me be so honest with everyone! Sis Roos is like my bestie; love her to death!!! But naturally, being with someone who's in their last transfer makes their companion (me) a little bit trunky (meaning ready to pack their trunk and go home). Then, of course, I start to feel bad about wanting to go home when I legit love my area. I love the members, and we are seeing so much success. So in every prayer, I catch myself apologizing to God that I miss home. Then this Wednesday after P-Day, I knew I had to change my ways. I prayed for inspiration rather than forgiveness. I asked God to guide me, and God truly answers prayers. I got a clear impression to go throughout my day constantly looking for the good. So instead of complaining about 12-degree weather, I thanked God for the mission car I drive with heat. Instead of complaining about our lessons canceling, I thanked God for the opportunity we had to meet a new person or exercise our faith in knocking! I just saw so many tender mercies. I feel like Wednesday was such a clear example of this.

Wednesday was Sister Walker’s 21st birthday, so Sister Roos and I ran to Crumbl and bought her cookies to celebrate the big day! Then we had a great district council where we gave a training about the importance of teaching simply, which later followed with a district lunch at Chili's! After our lunch, Sister Roos and I taught our friend Delphy (one of the miracles from last Thursday), and with the pure guidance of the Spirit, my companion felt prompted to invite Delphy! I was completely shocked, but boy was she inspired, and I trusted her! DELPHY SAID YES!!! So right now, we are working towards Feb 23rd! 💪 So cool! After Delphy, we got invited to a dinner with some friends, Tyler, Dayton, and Justice. I was really nervous for this dinner because they are very devoted to their faith! Although, we legit had Jesus with us teaching them! We felt so prompted to teach them about the restoration, and it went so smoothly! All my fears washed away. Then Dayton even asked the waiter if we could pray for him/with him! It was actually a super uplifting experience! We gave them all Books of Mormon and invited them to pray about them! God truly guided us Wednesday, and after seeking the good, I feel like I could recognize His Spirit easier!

This week just kept getting crazier and crazier!!! Friday we had exchanges; Sister Walker got to run it up in Springfield with me! It was a ton of fun! We met some fyaaaa inactive members, and it got me so hyped! Then Saturday we hit a church swap (I go to your church if you come to mine) with the trio (Dayton, Justice, and Tyler). It was so wild! Like legit a rock band church! It was like a concert; I legit let out my inner Christian. I was praising the Lord with my hands in the air and all! I let Sister Roos know about my Northrock/FCA days, and luckily, they all use the same worship songs, so I knew all the lyrics. I almost lost my voice for church on Sunday!

Sunday, TRENT GOT BAPTIZED!!! LEGIT A GLORIOUS DAY!!! It was a total blast!! Trent officially hit his 14-day mark of being clean, and it was so awesome! We asked if he had any requests for his big day, and he said he would like a TON of Reese’s cups! The branch delivered!!! Everyone brought buckets of Reese’s!!! Even our friends who showed up! It was so cool; he said he felt all the love! Our friends, Justice, Tyler, Dayton, and Juan all came to the baptism!!! They really liked it! 10/10 day!!!

Got kicked outta this Bible study! #rip

After the baptism, we got a call from the people that hosted Bible study last week. Long story short, they kicked us out of Bible study #lame. They said that they didn’t want us to take away from their flock… and a couple of other not-very-nice comments. We basically got uninvited from any future Bible studies with this group because the group leaders didn’t want us there. I think it was because all the college kids were very interested in our message… Anyways, God is always stronger because that night we had a BOMB miracle!!

Last night, Sister Roos and I were going over our weekly goals. We realized that in order to hit our goal of people working towards baptism, we had to invite another person that night with a firm date! We legit had nobody…. Not a single person came to mind.. But we were determined. Sister Roos suggested we pray about it. So we prayed, and we felt prompted to just go through our area book and call random but prompted people! So we called everyone; I kid y’all not, the first 12 people all had broken phone numbers, lol. At 8:55, with not much faith left, we were getting ready to head home for the night. Although, Sister Roos had a name come to mind that she taught a couple of months ago (she's been in the area for 6 months). So she legit called him (Joshua) on Facebook, and HE ANSWERED!!! After a fyaaaa Gospel of Jesus Christ lesson, we invited him to be baptized for February 23rd!!! So that's the day we are working towards with Joshua!! Y’all, it was an amazing miracle and an INCREDIBLE act of faith! God is so real! He's completely in the timing and details of our lives!!

This week, as we have been very involved in the Bible and baptism, I feel it's only natural that my spiritual thought comes from the baptism of Jesus Christ! I read the account in Matthew 3 of His baptism at least 14 times this week, and every time I’m in awe that He had been baptized. I had the question resting on my mind: If Jesus Christ really is perfect, why did He have to be baptized? After much study and much prayer, I have come to a simple conclusion. In God's eyes, baptism is SUPER important; it is the ONLY way we can enter God's kingdom. It's so important to God that He purposefully required His son—His perfect Son—to be baptized. Jesus Christ had to set the example for us. He really is our guide and our light. In Matthew 3:13-17 we read:

“13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Watching Trent be baptized yesterday, I got an overwhelming feeling from the Spirit of the gratitude that God had for Trent in that moment. A feeling of peace and a feeling that God was well-pleased. Yesterday, Sister Roos and I were talking about the conclusion of her mission. She told me that at the end, she wants to receive a priesthood blessing. She said that she hopes, in the blessing, she can be blessed with a clear mind and memory of the blessings and miracles she's witnessed on her mission. After pondering over her request, I feel the same desire. The past year of my life has been life-changing, and I pray that I never forget these moments—these friends, baptisms, miracles, and even the trials!

I love God, I love baptism, and I love my Savior, Jesus Christ! I hope y’all have a BLESSED week!! GOD IS SO GOOD!! 🩷
