GUYS!!! This is kind of a long email, but I have to sayโELDER KEARON IS MY FAVORITE APOSTLE!!!
Another bomb week!! Y'all, we started the week off so strong. We have officially taught our friend Elizabeth everything!! She is at 100%โwe even did the interview questions! This girl is ready!!! She just needs three more church attendances, so her date is officially April 13th, and we are praying on our knees that she wonโt get sick again!! Iโm so excited for this queen! She has genuinely been the most prepared person I have ever met. She was just so ready to change from day one, and the only hiccup we had to face was her pneumonia! But we are BACK!!

Then, we literally grinded and taught Aniya this week! We have to get all her principles taught before her baptism! Like I said a couple of weeks ago, Aniya barely knows who Jesus Christ is, so starting from zero has been a bit tougher to explain than I thought. But GOD is good, and we made flashcards! Although, she didnโt come to churchโaghhh!! Her family made her go to their church instead, so she didnโt come. ๐ข ButโGodโs plan!! ๐
Our friend David is a literal BEAST!!! Weโre just waiting for him to get back from Texas, and then itโs baptism time!!! He gets back on April 10th and will be baptized on the 13th! He has gone to church the last four weeks in a rowโthree of them in Texas!! Heโs also converting his whole family right now. This guy is amazing!!!
Iโm feeling a bit nervous because Elizabeth and David are both scheduled to be baptized after transfers (April 2nd). And Iโve been in this area for a whileโฆ So Iโm pretty convinced Iโll be booted out to another area right before their baptisms. ๐ญ For selfish reasons, Iโm so sad about it, but thank the heavens for Zoom! Anyway, thatโs not for sure yet, but please pray, pray, pray that I can stay in the YSA for a fourth transfer!!! ๐๐๐

Now, for the best day of my missionโSaturday!
On Saturday, we had the opportunity to hear from a real Apostle!!! Elder and Sister Kearon came to our mission, and it was AMAZING!! Being able to hear from him was truly life-changing. All week, I had been preparing to receive guidance and peace from his words, and it was everything I was hoping for and more! The spirit at the meeting was one of the strongest experiences Iโve ever had! So here are some of my takeaways!
First off, Sister Searle and I woke up at 4 AM to get ready and drive down to STL! We stopped at Circle K for some sodas, and the cashier gave them to us for FREEโso we knew it was gonna be a good day! Then we arrived, saw the whole mission, took loads of pictures, and caught up with EVERYBODY! Of course, we took a picture with Elder and Sister Kearon and got to shake their hands one by one! That was pretty cool!

After that, we got to hear from three Seventies (at least, I think they are Seventiesโhaha): Elder Dube, Elder Bangeter, and Elder Morgan!
Elder Morgan testified of the truthfulness of prophets and apostles and spoke about how Jesus Christ is the head of the Church!
Elder Bangeter spoke about miracles and devotion to faith! He also taught how the Savior is always participating in our lives. It reminded me of a story my sister-in-law, Caryn, shared. She told me that while on her mission, she had a picture of Jesus on her dashboard, and the reflection reminded her and her companion of His companionship in the work.
Elder Dube spoke about getting your head off the pillow and choosing to serve with all you have for the time weโve been gifted!
Then, Sister Kearon gave a BEAUTIFUL training on companionship counsel! It was super cute because she was going through the steps on how to have a good companionship counsel, and Elder Kearon got up and, in his British accent, said:
โYou know your wife is hinting at you when this is the first time sheโs given this training after hundreds of mission tours!โ
LOLโit was so funny! But one of my favorite takeaways was when Sister Kearon invited us to substitute Jesus Christโs name for the word โCharityโ in Moroni 7:45. Then she invited us to read the verse every morning in the mirror but substitute the word โCharityโ with our own name!
45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
I just thought that was such a powerful invitation! A perfect reminder to literally remember WWJD (What Would Jesus Do)!
Now, ELDER KEARON!!!
First off, I DIDNโT KNOW APOSTLES WERE ACTUALLY FUNNY! Like, I knew they made jokes at General Conference, but I thought those were prewritten!! He was actually funny in real lifeโcracking jokes left and right! It was just a reminder to me that it is 1000000% okay to be a fun missionary (which I try to be)!
Then, he really emphasized the importance of our mornings and how they spiritually prepare us for the day. We need to get up, exercise, and spiritually prepare ourselves so that God can prepare others!
At one point, Elder Kearon asked if anyone had gone through a really hard experience and what they had learned from it. I was just nodding my head, and then he looked straight into my soul and said:
โYou look like you have something to say.โ
So, I stood up and shared about our friend Jesus at the beginning of my mission who passed away the day before his baptism. I talked about how hard that was but also about the lessons my companion and I learned. And then, the coolest thing happened! My amazing comp from wayyy back whenโHermana Larsenโstood up and let him know that we are going to the temple to perform his proxy baptism on April 27th (a year after his death)!!! HOW AWESOME!!!! It was seriously like a Fuller House episode where you see all the characters grown up. #tender #missyouHermanaLarsen
Elder Kearon went on to say that opposition shouldnโt scare us. We are supposed to thrive on opposition and attack it with prayer. His advice on overcoming trials was exactly what I needed this past week!
At the end of his zone conference, he gave our mission an apostolic blessing. He literally closed his eyes and blessed us with the Melchizedek Priesthood, praying that we may recognize the joy and happiness in our hearts. Ever since, I have been filled with true JOY!
